<p>This study explores Indonesia's defense policy in the current era of great power competition. Great Power Competition (GPC) is term used to describe hegemony and sphere influence rivalries between global powers exercise their alter security constellation for national interests. The GPC dominated by U.S., China, Russia, while other nations world are trying find position within spectrum dynamics towards either bandwagoning, balancing, or even hedging. Southeast Asia’s mostly bipolar U.S. China shape regional countries' policies. As a leading country Asia region, Indonesia middle international intends further step up on hierarchy. This aims highlight possible formulation amidst era. proposes posture with qualitative analytical approach based Mahnken's theory competitive strategies that suitable appropriate interest framework foreign weighing both leverage points dilemmatic challenges. analysis uses survey data from well-known institutes along complementary literature interpretation. In conclusion, article provides comprehensive finding Indonesia, like rest prefers balanced relations powers, several suggestions considering propensity inward-looking military capabilities, diplomatic competence, an out-of-sync relationship domestic politics formulating policy.</p>
